Details
I offer a 60/40 split of the revenue from website business that you refer to me for the entire first year starting when the website is active and during the first year if the customer keeps the website active.
For my 60% I’m handling all the technology aspects, and all of the out-of-pocket expenses of computer server costs and domain name registration.
For your 40%, it’s simply a “thank you” for referring the person’s business.
I will pay you 40% for each month, up to 12 months, that the site is active.
The 60/40 split applies to websites only, not additional a-la-carte email accounts for hosted emails. It applies to any website plan, be it $50 / month or $500 / month.
Examples
See this first:
Good $50 customer – if you find a referral and they want a $50 / month website, I go through my process and build the site. Once the site is up, they pay me $50 / month. For the first 12 months, I give you 40%, which is $20. At the end of the year, you’ve collected $240.
Good $100 customer – if you find a referral and they want a $100 / month website, I go through my process and build the site. Once the site is up, they pay me $100 / month. For the first 12 months, I give you 40%, which is $40 each month. At the end of the year, you’ve collected $480.
Bad $50 customer – here’s the case where the person is super excited, then disappears. Let’s say after 3 months they disappear. They start off wanting a $50 / month website, I go through my process and build the site. Once the site is up, they pay me $50 / month. For 3 months they pay me $50 / month, so I in turn pay you $20 / month. If they stop paying me after 3 months, I have to shut the site down and I stop paying you, so we’re all in this together. This is why I called this a “bad $50 customer”.
Bad $100 customer – similar to the above case, let’s say they make it 7 months, then go out of business. Every month for 7 months they paid me $100 which is $700 total, $280 for you ($40 each month for 7 months) , $420 for me ($60 each month for 7 months). If they disappear after eight months, I have to shut down the site because they stopped paying.
Pre-Approval
This offer isn’t open to the general public. You must be an existing customer or a networking partner who was specifically invited to participate.
The process is as simple as sending an email to me and the potential customer along the lines of “Hey, I’ve CC’ed John, the website guy I was telling you about.”
